We would recommend the 485 to a specific buyer: someone in a hot, dry, dusty district who values a tractor that will not strand him with a cooling fault. Air-cooled engines have fewer things to go wrong and one less fluid to check, and in a village where the nearest authorised workshop is a long trip away, that reliability has a cash value. The 2140 kg frame is the heaviest thing here relative to its power, and it earns that weight in deep ploughing where a lighter tractor spins its wheels.

The costs are real. Air-cooled engines run hotter and are noisier, and after eight hours on a seat the noise is not a small thing. Fuel is only 45 litres, which is little for a 2945 cc engine, so a full day of heavy tillage means a refuelling stop. Power steering and oil immersed brakes are both optional, so the ₹6.25 lakh entry price is not the tractor most buyers will drive home.
