Eicher 557 Price October 2026

The base Eicher 557 is a 50 HP, three-cylinder water-cooled tractor. Its most useful buying question is whether you need the optional creeper arrangement. The official page lists 8F+2R as the main configuration and 12F+3R with creeper as an option; paying for more ratios makes sense only when they serve a real job.

Ask for the useful speed range

If an attachment requires slow travel, bring its recommended ground-speed range and PTO requirement to the dealer. Request the speed chart for the exact gearbox and tyres. The word creeper does not establish the minimum speed, towing capability or suitability for a particular planting operation.

Ask a trained operator to demonstrate the approved sequence for selecting ranges and changing direction. Partial synchromesh must not be read as permission to shift every gear under every condition. Confirm which 557 is in the offer

This card covers the base 557, not the separately listed 4WD or PRIMA G 3 versions. The base page lists a 46-litre tank, while the manufacturer's 557 2WD PRIMA G 3 page lists 65 litres. That difference is a useful way to spot a quotation built from mixed specifications; a larger tank is not evidence of better fuel economy.

Single/dual clutch choices and alternate PTO gearing also need written identification. Ask what engine setting produces the required shaft speed on the supplied machine and which engagement procedure applies. Do not infer PTO horsepower from the 50 HP engine category.

Match the loaded attachment

Eicher lists 2100 kgf lift with lower links horizontal, power steering and oil-immersed brakes. For an attachment carried behind the tractor, approval still needs its loaded mass, geometry, hitch and ballast arrangement. Before accepting delivery, reconcile the serial/model identity, gearbox option and accessory list with the order, and obtain the local service contact for the installed equipment.
