We would call this the sensible John Deere. The dual PTO speeds are the feature we would pay for: running 540 RPM at 1600 ERPM instead of 2100 means a thresher or a light rotavator gets its correct shaft speed while the engine turns slower, and over a whole Rabi threshing season that is a real saving in diesel and in engine hours. Four reverse gears in the collarshift box make trolley reversing into a narrow gate much less of a wrestle. Oil immersed brakes and standard power steering at ₹7.96 lakh are fair value.

Where it falls short is the hydraulics. A 1600 kg lift on a 50 HP tractor is stingy. The Farmtrac 45 Powermaxx costs ₹1.1 lakh less, is also 50 HP, and lifts 1800 kg with a heavier 2245 kg frame that will out-pull this in deep ploughing. Deere's answer is the warranty and the resale, and for many buyers that is enough. But if your work is mainly heavy tillage rather than PTO work, you are paying a premium for strengths you will not use.
