Mahindra OJA 2127 4WD is the 27 HP member identified in the Indian manufacturer's model FAQ. Its published combination of a three-cylinder engine, 12F + 12R constant-mesh transmission with synchro shuttle and power steering makes repeated row-end work a useful focus for a buying demonstration.

Test the repeated task, not a promotional claim

For a vineyard or orchard, write down one normal work cycle: align with the row, carry out the pass, stop the implement as required, turn and restart. Ask the dealer to demonstrate that cycle using your intended attachment and a trained operator. Observe control reach, visibility and the number of actions the operator must remember. Do not turn a brief demonstration into a claimed daily output or fuel-saving result.

The model page promotes automatic implement lift and automatic PTO switching. Confirm the option package and how each function interacts with the attachment. Electronic assistance is not a substitute for knowing the controls. Ask the dealer to explain the correct response if a function does not behave as expected; never bypass an interlock to keep working.

Read the PTO entry separately from engine power

Mahindra lists 540/780 PTO speeds. Those numbers describe rotational speed, not PTO horsepower, and the higher speed is not automatically approved for a 540-rpm implement. Obtain the attachment's specified input and the tractor manual's operating procedure. Engine HP alone cannot approve a sprayer or rotavator.

If your shortlist includes the Kubota NeoStar B2741S 4WD, compare the required implement, measured access and supplied features. Similar engine-power labels do not establish identical gearing or attachment control. The 2127 should earn its place through the work you actually repeat.

Ownership questions worth settling

Before paying for an automation package, ask which workshop can diagnose it locally and what familiarisation is included at handover. Keep a record of the exact gearbox and feature package in the invoice. Obtain warranty coverage and maintenance requirements in writing; online feature illustrations do not establish that everything shown is standard equipment.
