For a mid-size farm this is a sensible, unglamorous buy and we would recommend it on price alone. Under six lakh at the base you get 1650 kg of lift, which is more than several 44 HP tractors manage, a hydraulic system that accepts both linkage categories, and six years of warranty. The 48 litre tank and 1830 kg kerb weight are both right for the class. The number that gives us pause is PTO output: 32.6 HP from a 40 HP engine. That is a wider gap than you see on some rivals, and it means a six-foot rotavator in heavy soil will be slow going even though the engine badge says 40. Plan your implements around 32.6, not 40. The base transmission is sliding mesh again, so budget for the partial constant mesh variant if you turn often or haul on tar. Steering is mechanical unless you pay for hydraulic, and on a full day of headlands you will notice.
