The 800 mm rotor is a genuine productivity gain and the published 252 g/kW-h consumption is the kind of number most Indian tiller makers do not bother to state at all, which tells you something about how Kubota tests. Torque of 43.1 Nm keeps the rotor turning when the mud gets thick. But this costs ₹2.20 lakh to ₹2.75 lakh, which is up to ₹1.10 lakh more than a Shrachi SF 15 DI that does similar work in eastern paddy fields, and the Kubota is 13 HP against the Shrachi's 15. You are paying for build quality and finish, and whether that is worth it depends heavily on how far your nearest Kubota service point is. In Bengal or Assam villages, VST and Shrachi mechanics are simply more common. The 346 kg weight cuts both ways too: easier to turn at the bund and easier to lift onto a trailer, but less mass pressing a wider 800 mm rotor into stiff clay. In deep sticky mud a heavier machine digs better.
