The VST 165 DI ES Power Plus is a larger diesel-tiller choice for buyers who need more rotary capacity while retaining a tiller-based system. The current Indian product page identifies 16 HP and 857 cc. Its electric-start and seated operating arrangement should be assessed as a complete machine; neither makes it equivalent to a compact tractor with a conventional three-point hitch.

Plan for the complete machine

The manufacturer brochure lists a water-cooled single-cylinder diesel, 6F + 2R transmission and maximum rotary width of 750 mm. It specifies 510 kg for engine, transmission, rotary and seat assembly together. That figure is useful only with its assembly description; ask what the delivered configuration weighs before arranging loading, a ramp or transport.

For a farm reached through narrow entrances, check the complete access envelope and turning space rather than the rotary width alone. For wet-field work, specify the approved wheel and attachment combination. Have the dealer demonstrate stopping, steering and the permitted seated operating position; an accessory photograph is not approval for every slope or transport use.

Compared with a smaller tiller, the purchase decision should include the operator’s control, transport arrangements and service access. Ask for cooling-system and battery maintenance instruction at handover. A wider rotor does not guarantee proportionally greater daily output: depth, soil, turning and interruptions still determine completed work.
