Kubota MU5502 2WD Price October 2026
Kubota MU5502 2WD is a four-cylinder general-purpose tractor sold in India's 55 HP category. The current page and brochure pair that category with 36.5 kW, which is not its direct mathematical equivalent. This card preserves the manufacturer's 55 HP category label; it does not present it as a verified conversion, measured engine output or PTO power.
What the transmission specification does and does not say
The manufacturer lists a 2,434 cc engine, double clutch and 12F + 4R gearbox with synchromesh in the main transmission. That wording does not mean every range or direction change is synchronised. During a demonstration, ask the operator to show the correct clutch, range and PTO sequence from the supplied manual. Select gears for the real job rather than comparing only the total number of ratios.
For a rotavator or seeder, take the exact attachment's specifications to the dealer. Confirm PTO requirement, working speed, hitch category and hydraulic connections. The number 55 on the engine category cannot independently approve a particular super-seeder width or performance in heavy crop residue.
Read POMPA lift as a system
The brochure gives lift-point settings of 1,550, 1,800 and 2,100 kgf. The maximum figure shown in this site's specification field refers to that manufacturer lift-point rating, not unrestricted implement mass. Have the supplier demonstrate the selected setting, height limiter and lowering control. Ask how the attachment's weight and centre of gravity affect the approved ballast and transport setup.
The published 2WD weight is 2,310 kg and wheelbase 2,100 mm; do not borrow the 4WD column's figures. When considering the 4WD alternative, identify the actual traction problem you need to solve and compare the complete quote. Do not assume either version is universally better for every dry, wet or road task.
PTO modes and purchase scope
The brochure labels a standard 540 mode and a 750 mode, and mentions optional reverse PTO. Confirm which modes are installed; optional equipment is not guaranteed standard fitment. Use the implement maker's approved input speed rather than treating 750 as interchangeable with 540. No independent fuel-consumption comparison is available here.
Ask for a priced configuration in rupees covering tyres, hydraulics, PTO options and implements, with ex-showroom and applicable on-road charges separated. Discuss filter availability, hydraulic diagnostics and field-service response before ordering. A brochure's comfort claims cannot tell you whether the seat and controls suit your operator: include them in the demonstration.
