₹1.80 lakh to ₹2.05 lakh puts a real tillage machine on a one to three acre holding, and for wetland paddy that is money better spent than the same amount toward a tractor down payment. Six forward gears on a walk-behind is a generous count, the multiple-plate dry disc clutch stands up to repeated engagement, and the 220 mm plough depth means it does more than surface work. Parts availability is the quiet advantage: VST tillers are common enough that a village mechanic in Thrissur or Bardhaman has seen one before. Our complaints are about the operator, not the machine. Starting is by hand crank. On a cold morning after a long night, that is genuine physical work, and buyers over fifty should try it in the yard before signing. Only two rotary speeds come as standard, with four available as an option worth paying for if you switch between dry tillage and puddling. And 600 mm of tilling width is narrower than the Kubota PEM 140's 800 mm, so you walk more rows to cover the same field.
