Mahindra OJA 2124 4WD is identified by the manufacturer as a 24 HP three-cylinder tractor. It sits above the 2121 in engine rating, but that difference alone is not a reason to buy it. The practical question is whether it supports the attachment and working routine you need without paying for unused equipment.

Evaluate the sprayer as a loaded machine

An orchard sprayer needs more than a tractor with a PTO shaft. Ask the sprayer maker for its required shaft speed, power, hitch and loaded mass. Include liquid in the tank, then have the dealer confirm the approved combination and ballast. A brochure lift figure is not an unconditional allowance for any implement of the same weight.

Check whether the quoted PTO engagement and automatic features are actually included. Have the dealer show the controls using the matching manual and explain what happens when stopping, turning and reversing. A feature that sounds convenient still needs to suit your operator and the attachment; do not infer a pesticide-saving percentage from the equipment name.

Identify the exact transmission and tyre package

The current product page lists 12F + 12R and an 8.3 x 20 rear tyre. The linked Compact leaflet also describes other gear and tyre options for the 2124. Keep one configuration throughout the quote, demonstration and delivery inspection rather than taking the most attractive figure from each listing.

Compare the actual working-speed choices with the 2121 and 2127 packages offered locally. A higher engine rating does not tell you whether the useful gear falls at the speed your implement requires. For row access, use the measurement checklist with the fitted implement, not a bare-tractor showroom measurement.

Budget beyond the purchase

Ask which service parts and electronic diagnostics the local workshop supports, who handles field visits and what warranty terms apply to the quoted options. Keep a separate budget for the implement and delivery. The 2124 deserves its premium over a cheaper candidate only when you can name the task or operator benefit that the complete package adds.
