Match loaded weight as well as horsepower
The brochure specifies 4 units, 45–75 cm row spacing, 35 L seed capacity per unit and 340 L total fertiliser capacity in 2 tanks. Unladen mass is 900 kg. The stated requirement is 55 HP and above with minimum 2000 kg hydraulic lift capacity and Category II linkage. That lift rating is not permission to add an arbitrary payload: the supplier must check the tractor’s actual hitch geometry and loaded balance.
Separate wheel-driven chains operate the seed and fertiliser systems. Check both outputs independently; correct seed placement does not prove the fertiliser rate is right. Inspect misses, doubles, placement depth and covering in the trial strip. The published 300 cm working width describes a configuration, not guaranteed effective coverage at every row spacing. Plan headland turns and replenishment when comparing this planter with a simpler mechanical unit.
