Read the price band carefully before you get excited or alarmed. The 1,53,108 to 8,83,000 rupee spread is the category, not this machine: the top figure belongs to the Fieldking Heavy Duty Hydraulic FKHDHH 26-20, an 80 to 90 HP implement. What you are buying here is a mounted compact harrow, and our honest assessment is that 960 kg on a three-point linkage is a serious load for a 60 HP tractor. It lifts, but the front gets light on a slope and you will want front weights for road movement between plots. Where this machine earns its keep is on farms that plough and then need one fast pass to break everything down, and on sugarcane land where trash has to be chopped into the soil rather than raked off. Where it does not make sense: small holdings under about 10 acres, where a cultivator at a fraction of the price does most of the same work more slowly, and any farm below 55 HP. Discs also smear wet soil rather than cut it, so this is dry-season equipment. Keep the eight bearing hubs greased; that is the whole maintenance story and also the whole failure story.

Can a disc harrow be used instead of a rotavator?
