A plough is bought once and used a few days a year, which is why farmers underspend on it and then curse the machine every rabi season. Our view: the 10 mm blade and 8 mm mould board are the specification worth paying for, because thin sheet wears at the share point, the plough starts sliding instead of cutting, and the tractor works harder for shallower work. On the tractor question, 45 HP is enough for two bottoms at moderate depth in loam. Full 350 mm in dry black cotton soil is another matter, and there 60 HP is the honest number. The plough is a draft implement, so what limits you is not PTO power but weight on the rear wheels and grip; a light 45 HP tractor will wheelspin before the plough stalls, and ballast or cage wheels fix that faster than a bigger implement will. Price-wise the category starts around 30,110 rupees for a Vishwakarma MBP Plus, so at 32,497 the two-bottom Fieldking is competitively placed. Do not buy the three-bottom variant at 47,336 unless you actually have 65 HP. You will not pull it.
