In a wheat window that lasts twenty days, a machine sitting idle for three days waiting on a part has eaten its own margin for the season. The 605 mm drum with a mechanical variator from 540 to 1200 rpm is the component that earns its keep, because you drop drum speed for mustard and lift it again for paddy without a workshop visit. Cutting height from 65 mm to 1275 mm is a genuinely wide band, enough for lodged paddy at one end and for leaving tall stubble that a straw reaper can work on afterwards. Now the costs. Ground clearance is 340 mm, the lowest of the big wheeled machines in this batch, and after unseasonal rain that shortfall turns into a stuck combine and a tractor called out to pull it.
