Hydrostatic drive means the operator controls forward speed with a lever instead of hunting for gears, and in a soft field where you are constantly easing off and pushing again, that is worth more than an extra ten horsepower. The 30 to 990 mm cutting height range goes low enough for a crop flattened by late rain. Stainless elevators are a small detail that stops rust where wet paddy sits. What you are paying for it, though, deserves a hard look. ₹23.95 lakh gets you 76 HP, a 7 ft header and a 1.3 cubic metre tank. For roughly the same money the Preet 987 gives you 101 HP, twice the cutter width and nearly twice the tank, and Claas asks ₹16.50 lakh for a 7 ft track machine. The 100 litre fuel tank is small, so a full contracting day means carrying diesel. Buy this if your fields genuinely stay wet through the harvest. If they dry out by cutting time, you are paying a heavy premium for tracks you do not need.
